To come to Nan, you have the choice between the bus and the plane. There is no train station in Nan. From Bangkok, Nok Air and Air Asia are both serving the city by plane. By bus from Bangkok, it takes approximmatly 10 hours. From Chiang Mai, 6 hoours, 5 hours from Chiang Rai and 2 hours from Phrae. Buses to Nan are not very numerous. To leave Nan, you can fly with Nok Air or Air Asia to go to Bangkok or go by bus to Bangkok (10 hours). Otherwise, you have buses to Chiang Mai (6 hours) and Chiang Rai (5 hours), local bus to Phayao or minivan to Phrae (2 hours) although some buses to Chiang Mai also stop there.Buses and minivans from Nan
