All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Located in Thung Fon District, in the northeast of Udon Thani Province, Wat Sridaram is a small, peaceful Buddhist temple located on the side of the road, with few visitors. It is notable for its nine-headed Naga, whose body spans the temple pond. This imposing nine-headed serpent sculpture, over 131 meters long and 15 meters high, winds its way through an ancient pond, connecting Ho Pu Ko Island to the main temple. The Naga is a revered figure in Thai culture, symbolizing protection and prosperity.
The temple also houses a shrine dedicated to Pu Sri Sutho, a revered Naga deity. This shrine, nearly a century old, is located about 300 meters behind the temple, in a shaded and serene setting. The adjacent pond, considered sacred, has never dried up, reinforcing the spiritual dimension of the place.
