Located on the outskirts of the city of Pak Chong, 90 kilometers from the city of Nakhon Ratchasima (also known as Korat), the temple Wat Khao Wan Chainawarat is installed on the top of a hill. The temple is said to have been built in 1941. The remarkable feature of the temple is its sandstone castle, which dates to it from 2006, with a wooden pattern that withstands the sun and rain surrounded by a water pool a superb blue. Its architecture, although in sandstone, resembles that of a traditional wooden house. Its upper floor houses a statue of Buddha and another of the revered monk Luang Phu Cha.
The lower floor has a circular gallery in which one encounters a few Buddha statues but the most beautiful part is after climbing the stairs.
The view from the sandstone building is rather obstructed. On the other hand, from the first ordination hall near the car park, you can have a dominant view of the valley and the city of Pak Chong, which is much more interesting.
