Do not confuse UD TOWN with the Udon Thani night market. Both are open in the evening and offer food stalls but one is more upscale and designed for tourists when the other is more local and frequented by locals. They are on each side of the street leading to Udon Thani railway station. You can eat good Thai street food in both but Udon Thani night market offers more choice and is more thai.
The Night market sometimes called Train Night Market is one of the largest daily night markets in Thailand. There is a very wide choice of local dishes ranging from classic pad thai to papaya salads, including seafood dishes and spicy crab salads. It's really a great place to taste, test and try Thai Street Food. There you eat well at a low price!
For me, dining at the Udon Thani Night market near the train station is one of the unmissable experiences when you come to Udon Thani. This is why my travel agency < strong>Siamese Wonders offers almost systematically in our tours in Isaan to go eat there with a thai guide who will explain the specialties to you.
Guide to visit Night market
The Udon Thani night market is held every evening from 5 p.m. near the train station.
Next door is UD Town Udon Thani which also offers food stalls but for a more local adventure, it is better to go to the night market.
