Visit Khao Ngu Stone Park (Ratchaburi)

Located less than 10 kilometers outside the city of Ratchaburi, Khao Ngu Stone Park is one of its most distinctive landscapes, featuring a spectacular limestone massif and a small artificial lake surrounded by a former stone-quarrying site transformed into a public park. It is also an ancient religious site. The caves of Khao Ngu notably house ancient Buddhist representations, including a famous high-relief Buddha carved into the rock face, associated with the Dvaravati period.

The name Khao Ngu literally means snake mountain. Today, the site combines limestone cliffs, a body of water, walkways, trails, and ancient Buddhist shrines built into the rock faces. It is one of Ratchaburi's best-known sites and a pleasant place to walk around. To be frank, however, unless you plan to spend quite a bit of time visiting Ratchaburi province, it is not necessarily worth the detour. There are more interesting places to visit. But the advantage, if you don't have a vehicle, is that it is not that far from the city and you can get there by Grab.
