Located right next to Wat Prayoon, I even think it's part of it, Khao Mo is a small, unusual Zen garden that represents Mount Meru, a sacred Buddhist mountain. This calm, green space, often overlooked by visitors, offers a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere that I love.
There is a small artificial mountain that represents Mount Meru, the mythical center of the universe in Buddhist and Hindu cosmology. It is a miniature reconstruction, with small caves, miniature statues and stupas, and vegetation, including pretty trees, set on an island surrounded by a pond populated by turtles.
In the past, Khao Mo temples were reserved for royal temples or palaces. This particularly well-preserved one offers a glimpse into this rare aspect of Thai sacred architecture.
