All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Located in the Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai province, the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail is a 2.8-kilometer loop trail offering very beautiful views. It is especially stunning early in the morning, as its breathtaking panoramas over the sea of mist are what made it famous. Open from November to May, the trail usually takes 2 to 3 hours to complete. The trail is of moderate difficulty, with boardwalks and some slightly steep sections, but nothing too challenging.
The most scenic part of the trail is the mountain ridge leading up to a viewpoint overlooking the two royal pagodas of Doi Inthanon: Phra Mahathat Naphamethanidon (for the King) and Phra Mahathat Nopphonphusiri (for the Queen). The view is particularly beautiful at sunset. If you do the trail in the morning, I recommend visiting the two pagodas afterward.
This trail can be part of a 2-day Doi Inthanon trek with an overnight stay in the mountains. I recommend one of these in the Chiang Mai excursions section.
