Chiang Mai & Lamphun: Temples, Hot Spring & Northern Thai Cuisine

Chiang Mai is my home and I'll also show you Lamphun, a calm and charming neighbor of Chiang Mai. We'll start in Chiang Mai, capturing the lake view at my favorite viewpoint, visiting a temple of rare architectural style and relaxing at a hot spring. Then we'll travel to Lamphun for authentic Northern Thai lunch set and an old temple with unique pagoda.

Head to Wat Sri Mung Maung. This temple is one of Chiang Mai locals' secrets. It's quiet and is the spiritual center for the ethnic group Tai Lue. Let's see the beautiful architectural details, including the Tai Lue style.

Leave Wat Sri Mung Muang for San Kamphaeng Hot Springs.

We are now at San Kamphaeng Hot Springs. You can try the original boil-it-yourself hot spring eggs or even take a dip.

Lunch the local style at Dao Kanong. This is one of Lamphun's legendary restaurants. They serve a set of classic Northern Thai cuisine. From Northern-style appetizers to curry and other rare dishes, let's try them all.

Go to Wat Phra Kaew Yeun in Lamphun. It's an old temple with pagoda in Hariphunchai architectural style, an art style unique to Lamphun
