Chiang Mai's Chinese community organizes Chinese New Year festivities every year. The epicenter of the event is Warorot market and nearby streets.The celebrations are usually concentrated over 3 days with a parade with lion dances that starts from Thaphae Gate and joins the Warorot market. There is stage next to the market with traditional dance and theater performances. While the street along is filled with food stalls.
