Why visit with a guide?

You can visit the temples of Angkor on your own, but a good guide changes everything: they tell the story of the Khmer Empire, bring the bas-reliefs to life, know the times to avoid the crowds and the less visited temples. Many official guides speak excellent English. Here are the ones I recommend.

Generally allow $35 to $60 a day for an official guide, excluding transport (tuk-tuk or car with driver) and the Angkor Pass.
