World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony in Ayutthaya
March 17, the former capital of the kingdom, Ayutthaya will host the Miracle Muay Thai Festival, organized by the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand and the Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) and World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, the most important event in Thai boxing or ‘”Muay Thai”.
During the Wai Khru Muay Thai ceremony, boxers pay tribute to their teachers and legendary Muay Thai heroes. Hundreds of followers of Thai boxing from around the world come every year to participate in this celebration.
World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony will be held at Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya Historical Park from 5.30 pm, while opposite, at Wat Khao Langkha, Miracle Muay Thai Festival will welcome visitors from 2 pm.
On the Miracle Muay Thai Festival program: various exhibitions of martial arts, arts and crafts demonstrations (traditional Thai tattoo, Aranyik swords making etc …) and everything to learn about the art of Muay Thai.
