Thailand’s history of coups

As we tell you in our previous posts, coups are unfortunately quite common in Thailand and despite these brackets Thailand has remained a democracy and will shortly be back to democracy. Here is a the history of coups and coups attempts in the country…

As you can see, this is the 12th since 1932 and the establishment of the Constitution, but if a dozen were successful, there were also seven coup attempts which failed. Political instability is an integral part of Thailand history. And viewing the pattern that repeats constantly, there is good chances that whatever the solution to the crisis will be, the deep divisions in thai society persist.
