Bangkok 11th city in the world where urban transit is the cheapest
Thanks to is low taxi fares, Bangkok was ranked as the 11th city in the world with the most affordable urban transport in GoEuro Urban Transit Price Index.

The website ranked 60 major cities around the world based on the price of a journey of 10 km using taxis, public transport and car sharing service. BTS, MRT and Airport Link fares are average in terms of cost but it is the low taxi fares (the survey was made before the next price increase of taxis in Bangkok scheduled for December), which allowed the Thai capital to get the 11th rank. Bangkok is ranked third city with the lowest average taxi fares. But BTS and MRT fares, are at 29th rank.
In Bangkok, public-transit costs $ 1.88 per ride transit and s taxi ride costs $ 2.72 per 10 km according to GoEuro.
Six Asian cities rank among the 10 most affordable cities. Two are in India and two in Latin America.

The cheapest city is New Delhi in India, followed by another Indian city, Mumbai and Jakarta in Indonesia. The most expensive city for urban transport is Stockholm in Sweden.
