Thailand second most dangerous country in the world to drive

The website news.drive.com unveiled a week ago its ranking of countries where you are most likely to die in a car accident. Thailand is ranked 2nd out of 193 countries despite repeated efforts in recent years to improve the road safety.

La Thaïlande est le 2e pays au monde en terme de mortalité routière

Countries with the most deaths from car accidents per 100,000 inhabitants:

1 . Namibia – 45
2 . Thailand – 44
3 . Iran – 38
4 . Sudan – 36
5 . Swaziland – 36
6 . Venezuela – 35
7 . Congo – 34
8 . Malawi – 32
9 . Dominican Republic – 32
10 . Iraq – 32

The study is based on the number of road deaths per population collected by the World Health Organization. In Thailand, the 2nd most dangerous country in the world, there were 44 deaths in road accidents per 100,000 citizens. Only one less than for Namibia, most dangerous country in the world according to this classification. But the probability of being caught in a deadly accident even in Thailand remains low, but be aware that danger is bigger in Thailand. Particularly during New Year and Songkran long weekends.
