Wolkswagen mini van bars
A little bit of nostalgia brightens Thai nightlife. Particularly present in Bangkok at night, Wolkswagen mini van transformed into bar counters settle gradually in streets in the evening putting their chairs and tables out.
Beautifully decorated, the minibuses often have colorful neons sometimes connected to the music. They transform the streets into friendly spaces where it’s nice to meet friends for a drink. The highest concentration of these
peculiar bars that appear for a few hours each night is on Sukhumvit Soi 11. Others are in the surrounding streets and in the most popular areas at night in Bangkok including Khao San Road.
Other cities with vibrant nightlife like Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui, also have their Wolkswagen bars even though Bangkok is the capital of these small street pubs. This is not a Thai specificity, we see such kind of bars everywhere in the World but they are not so numerous as in Thai Capital City.
