Things to Do with Kids in Bangkok: 5 Awesome Activities (Perfect for Rainy Days!)

Bangkok is packed with exciting activities for families! If you are wondering what to do with kids in Bangkok, you will quickly discover that the Thai capital is not just a destination for adults. Interactive museums, amusement parks, giant aquariums, and even ice rinks: everything is set up to entertain both kids and grown-ups.
And the best part? Many of these activities are sheltered from the rain and heat, making them absolutely perfect if you are wondering what to do in Bangkok on a rainy day with kids.

Here is a selection of the 5 best family activities in Bangkok, tested and approved by my daughter Lili between the ages of 6 and 7!

SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World

The largest city-center aquarium in Southeast Asia!

What you’ll find there:
A massive aquarium located inside the Siam Paragon mall in central Bangkok, featuring over 30,000 marine animals—including sharks, rays, turtles, and penguins. It offers themed zones (tropical ocean, underwater tunnel), interactive animations, feeding shows, and fully immersive experiences!

2. WOW Park

An interactive, educational, and fun science museum in Ekkamai

What you’ll find there:
WOW Park is an interactive science museum where kids (and parents!) can test their knowledge, run fun experiments, check out surprising installations, measure the loudness of their screams, snap photos in unique optical illusion settings, and learn while having a blast. Visits are conducted in 1.5-hour sessions with a guide (booking in advance is highly recommended).

They also offer a 30-minute “Science Show” that is well worth seeing. I highly recommend doing both the museum tour and the show, even if it represents a bit of a budget.

Practical Tips

Buy your tickets online in advance (for SEA LIFE, Dream World, WOW Park) to skip the queues and secure better rates. Keep an eye on sites like ticket2attraction.com; they often have discounted rates (and it is completely reliable, I’ve tested it myself).

For parks located outside the city center (like Dream World), prepare yourself for a longer journey and plan to make a whole day of it.
