In the Prasae district 70 kilometers east of Rayong city, there is the largest mangrove forest in the province. It was once an agricultural land that was reclaimed by the municipality to preserve the mangroves. There are 2 notable parts: the dominant viewpoint on the greenery of the foliage, Tung Prong Thong which means the golden meadow because the leaves are gilded with the grazing light of the sun at sunrise but especially at sunset, and the mangroves forest crossed by a 2 km raised wooden path that leads to the warship of the HTMS Prasae Memorial (also accessible by road). There is also a beautiful giant tree about halfway.
It is one of the most visited places by Thai people in Rayong province. They are quite numerous on weekends and holidays. Boat tours are also available.
