Presentation Phra Chaison Cave (Tham Phra)

g_translate Thai name : ถ้ำพระเขาชัยสน
reviews My opinion: starstarstarstar
Phatthalung
Tham Phra Khao Chaison Phatthalung
Phatthalung Grotte Du Bouddha
Bouddha Cave Khao Chaison Phatthalung
Also in Khao Chaison district, more or less halfway between the Nam Yen Cave and the hot springs, this small temple in a cave is an interesting visit. You enter into a corridor in the rock with some statues and murals before arriving at a staircase that leads to an upper level which is the most interesting part. You will find a reclining Buddha and wall murals telling several buddhist legends. The freshness of the cave can also be pleasant in strong heat. There are also some monkeys outside.

Cumulated with the Nam Yen Cave and the nearby hot springs this is a nice half day trip especially if you end it with a relaxing meal at the Kaeng Nam Hu Rae Restaurant sitting in one of its small huts on stilts installed on the course of the river. You can also play in the water (especially children) or go kayaking. A typical Thai address which is about 1.5 km from the cave and 1 km from the hot springs (GMap location and details here).

Practical information about Phra Chaison Cave (Tham Phra)

No admission fee
Tham Phra is located 300 meters from Khao Chaison Hot Springs and about 15 km from Phatthalung city. Do not forget to remove your shoes before entering the cave.

How to get to Phra Chaison Cave (Tham Phra) ?

To get to to this area in Phatthalung province, I remind you that there is a railway station station, Khao Chaison station, and then the various visits are within a 3 km distance from the station. It may be possible to find a tuk-tuk at the train station but I can assure you since I did not test.
