Located at the top of Khao Daeng mountain, this viewpoint is the most famous in
Khao Sam Roi Yot national park and offers a breathtaking 360 degree view over the villages , the beach and the mountains. Visitors can reach the top by hiking on an trail in the forest. The whole first part does not really look like a path but a bit like a game of tracks in the middle of the rocks in which you have to spot each next yellow arrow. The ascent is not easy. It took me a half hour to reach the summit. I was lucky to see dusky langur monkeys in the trees a little before the top of the hill. One of them did not run away as long as I stayed at a safe distance. This viewpoint is particularly appreciated for sunrises and sunsets but come with a good flashlight because the path is already a little complicated to spot in broad daylight, so at night ...
Note that near the Wat Khao Daeng temple, below, you can go for a nice 1 hour boat trip on the canal through the mangroves and the fishing village. But the morning boat tour on the swamps is, from my point of view, much nicer for an equivalent price, so if you have to choose only one, prefer the one on the swamps.
