Ban Tha Chang Spring is a small portion of the Lam Takong River whose waters are crystal clear with turquoise color. Located 9 kilometers from the northern entrance of
Khao Yai National Park, the main entrance, they are surprisingly little known, especially by foreign tourists. Nevertheless, it is a very pleasant place to bathe and even swim in a natural pool in the shade of the trees. The locals know it much more, so that there are many Thais, generally from Bangkok, on weekends and public holidays. But on week days, there are a lot less people !
The color of the water in the river apart from this small section is less appealing, especially in the rainy season? If waters are so clear on Ban Tha Chang Spring's part, it is because they emerge naturally from the ground, with rainwater being filtered by rocks in this area, which have a high level of calcium carbonate, which rises to the surface. That's what makes the Ban Tha Chang Spring water fresh and so blue.
