When a\u00a0new year begins, we\u00a0are\u00a0looking for good resolutions to try to be better or live happier. To inspire you in your quest for good resolutions 2016<\/strong>, I made you a small collection of Buddhist maxims that i found in different temples in Thailand.<\/p>\n

Buddhist wisdom may be a good guide for 2016<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Those who have already been in Thailand have probably noticed in some temples these small tablets with a\u00a0green background in general, with Buddhist maxims\u00a0written in white. In Thai but also sometimes in English. You can find some of them at\u00a0Wat Phra Singh in Chiang Mai<\/a> or at Wat U-Mong, in Chiang Mai again (but Wat u-mon outisde the city center).<\/p>\n

Here are some buddhists maxims I have chosen and i thiing will perhaps inspire you\u00a0for\u00a0a good start in 2016.<\/p>\n

“Today is better than two tomorrows”<\/h2>\n

Another way to express the importance of living in the present and enjoying the present time. That we usually know with\u00a0the Latin maxim “carpe diem”<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“Anxiety shortens life”<\/h2>\n

So does\u00a0stress ! This maxim is connected to the previous one.\u00a0We are a lot less stressed when we live in the present time…<\/p>\n

“If there is nothing that you like, you must like\u00a0what you have”<\/h2>\n

We often tend to always want more and more and forget to enjoy what we already have.<\/p>\n

Money and greed corrupt\u00a0everything.<\/p>\n

We learn from our failures and mistakes than from our successes and achievements.<\/p>\n

A maxim which I love and which I still think I’m afraid to get into a project.<\/p>\n
