{"id":2451,"date":"2015-09-22T10:35:59","date_gmt":"2015-09-22T08:35:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thailandee.com\/blog\/en\/?p=2451"},"modified":"2015-09-22T10:35:59","modified_gmt":"2015-09-22T08:35:59","slug":"new-6-months-multiple-entry-visas-for-thailand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thailandee.com\/blog\/en\/index.php\/2451-new-6-months-multiple-entry-visas-for-thailand","title":{"rendered":"New 6 months multiple-entry visas for Thailand confirmed !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few days after the announcement that <a href=\"\/blog\/en\/index.php\/2449-thailand-bans-visa-runs\" target=\"_blank\">Thailand bans visa runs<\/a>\u00a0(officially), there are some good news for travellers\u00a0: <strong>a new tourist multiple-entry\u00a0visa for Thailand \u00a0will be available from 13 November 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1800\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thailandee.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/visa-thaland.jpg\" alt=\"Visa Thailand\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" data-wp-imgselect=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rumor was persistant, it is official now, <strong>Thailand will soon grant multiple entry visas to foreign visitors<\/strong> to prepare for the upcoming ASEAN Community and \u00a0boost the tourism industry in Thailand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The multiple-entry tourist visa (METV)<\/strong> will cost 5000 baht and will provide travelers with multiple entries in Thailand for a period of 6 months, for a maximum of 60 consecutive days per entry. All foreigners are can apply\u00a0to\u00a0obtain this new visa.<\/p>\n<p>The new visa will allow visitors to <strong>enter and leave Thailand\u00a0as often as they want<\/strong> over a period of six months. It also means tourists will actually be able to stay in Thailand for six months with this visa if they leave the country every 60 days.<\/p>\n<p>The news were\u00a0welcomed by the tourism industry in Thailand. Charoen Wangananont, president of the Association of Thai Travel Agents, found it beneficial for those who often <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thailandee.com\/en\/visit-thailand\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">visit Thailand<\/a> but also said\u00a0that it is<em> &#8220;a good start, although the six-month period is perhaps still a little short for some visitors.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>METV was announced in August, and was officially confirmed this week after its publication in the Government Gazette.<\/p>\n<p>Thailand still hopes to welcome 29 million visitors this year. Tourism is a key sector of Thai economy has seen better days.<\/p>\n<p><em>You can get this new multi-entry visa atthe immigration offices in Thailand.
