This year&#8217;s festivities will take place from 2 to 6 November 2014.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4372\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4372\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4372 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thailandee.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/loy-krathong-sukhothai.jpg\" alt=\"Loy Krathong Sukhothai 2014\" width=\"450\" height=\"531\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4372\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Loy Krathong is one of the most important festivals in Thailand<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Although Loy Krathong Festival is now celebrated in all\u00a0Thailand, the ritual was born in Sukhothai, the first capital of Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>Every evening, the entrance to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thailandee.com\/eng\/see-visit-thailand\/sukhothai-historical-park-sukhothai-10\" target=\"_blank\">Sukhothai Historical Park<\/a> will be free and there will be a light and sound show at Wat Mahathat (not free). Visitors will see a procession of large krathongs from 17 northern provinces, a\u00a0krathongs (floating rafts)\u00a0design competition ,\u00a0Miss Noppamas beauty pagent, \u00a0traditional dances performances , fireworks and a night bazaar for shopping,\u00a0food stalls&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The main event of the Sukhothai Loy Krathong and Candle Festival will take place on the last evening.
